Connect your Stripe account

For SaaS and app projects: EterMail reads your customers, subscriptions and payments from Stripe, so you can segment by plan and status and send lifecycle emails such as trial reminders and failed-payment notices.

  • • Read-only: you create a restricted key that can only read, and EterMail only ever reads.
  • • Nobody is subscribed to marketing by this connection: Stripe has no marketing consent. Emails go to contacts who opted in elsewhere.
  1. 1

    Open API keys in Stripe

In the Stripe Dashboard go to Developers → API keys and choose "Create restricted key". Use your live account for real customers, or test mode to try it out.

  2. 2

    Give it read access

Name it "EterMail" and set these permissions to Read. Leave everything else at None.

    • Customers: Read
    • Subscriptions: Read
    • Invoices: Read
    • Products: Read
    • Events: Read
  3. 3

    Copy the key

Create the key and copy it (it starts with rk_live_ or rk_test_).

  4. 4

    Paste it into EterMail

In your project open Settings → Connect data, paste the key under Stripe and connect. The first import starts right away; after that, changes arrive about every 15 minutes.
