Anti-spam and acceptable use policy

Last updated October 9, 2026

EterMail exists to help businesses send email people want to receive. Spam harms recipients, damages mailbox providers' trust in our infrastructure, and hurts every other customer who shares it. This policy is part of our terms of service.

Send marketing email (campaigns and automated flows) only to people who have agreed to receive it from you, for example through a signup form, a checkbox at checkout or an account setting. You must be able to show when and how each person agreed.

You may not send marketing email to:

  • purchased, rented, traded or scraped lists;
  • addresses collected for a different purpose, without consent for marketing;
  • people who have unsubscribed or asked not to be contacted.

When you import contacts, you must state the consent basis. Contacts without one are never marked as subscribed.

2. Every marketing email must

  • identify you clearly as the sender, with an accurate From name and address;
  • use subject lines that are not misleading;
  • include your valid postal address;
  • include a working unsubscribe link. EterMail adds it, together with one-click unsubscribe headers, and you may not remove or hide it.

Unsubscribes take effect immediately in EterMail. You must not re-add people who unsubscribed by importing them again.

3. Cold outreach rules

Cold outreach is one-to-one business email to people who haven't opted in. Where the law allows it, it is acceptable only when:

  • it is sent to business contacts, about something relevant to their role;
  • it comes from your own mailboxes, on domains separate from your marketing email;
  • it is sent at a modest volume within EterMail's ramp-up and daily limits;
  • it stops when the person replies, and you honour every request not to be contacted again;
  • it is never sent to people in jurisdictions where unsolicited commercial email to them is prohibited without consent.

4. Prohibited content and uses

You may not use EterMail to send or promote:

  • anything illegal, fraudulent, deceptive or infringing;
  • phishing, malware, or attempts to collect credentials;
  • adult content, illegal drugs, weapons, gambling where unlicensed, or high-risk financial schemes such as get-rich-quick offers and unregistered investments;
  • content that harasses or threatens people;
  • transactional emails pretending to be from another company, or any impersonation.

You may not attempt to bypass sending limits, suppression lists or unsubscribe handling, or use EterMail to test or probe lists.

5. Quality thresholds

We monitor bounce and complaint rates for every project. As guidance, keep complaint rates below 0.1% and hard bounce rates below 2%. When rates rise sharply, EterMail pauses sending automatically so the cause can be investigated. Accounts that keep exceeding safe levels may be suspended.

6. Enforcement

We may review content and sending activity, pause campaigns, sequences or mailboxes, require changes before sending resumes, and suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy. Serious or repeated violations may result in immediate termination without refund.

7. Reporting abuse

If you received unwanted email sent through EterMail, report it to [email protected] and include the email, if possible with its headers. We investigate every report.
